The size of the DSU .. each square 640 acre DSU is 1 square mile so a 1280 acre multi unit is 2 square mile units joined together which allows an almost 2 mile pond later taking the 165 foot restriction from the boundary from the heal to the toe of the lateral portion of the well.

The Rangers unit is a 960 acre multiunit, comprising of a 640 square mile plus a 320 half mile unit, so the lateral component of the well is arestricted to 3/4 of the length of a 1280 acre multiunit.

Rangers was originally a 640 acre unit so it was originally only going to be a mile long lateral… that is why the addition of the new 320 acre unit allowed a 50 % increase to the original well, and increased the Rangers unit reserves by 50%
