Nothing new here been mucking round with that for quite some time. It took em years to get even the remote ug gear practical.(I was working at cat at the time)
Everything i said is valid regardless of what you say.
Even they wouldnt admit that it would complete more than one circuit. (full electric obviously).
In reality they will be changing battery packs over as required during the shift.
They will obviously need some of albos moon driven solar panels to keep the packs charging all night.....

Just imagine the number of packs required and the size and fuel volumes required for the fossil fuel powered generators to keep them going.
I dare say that bhp wont stop mining because the wind aint blowin or the sun not shining.
And all by when have you zealots been quoting. 2035 was it....

Someone as switched on as yourself would realize how much of a headache it is getting economical power supply to any mine let alone needing to more than double the costs for that requirement.
