perhaps we should start talking about dollars being worth so much gold

after all it is gold (and the like) that is the solid stuff - the rest is just fritter that we use to transact things

you can make lots of fritter - but there is a limit to gold --


yep, the question should be -- 'how much gold can I buy with these particular dollars?'
