In my local community in Germany we have these H2 trains running since beginning of December. It has been a bumpy start as the trains are required to keep at least 33% of hydrogen left in the tank. Performance has been very bad, but that's also because there is only one refuelling station which is not on the branch.
The hydrogen itself comes as byproduct of an industrial park near Frankfurt.
