How do you think those holes in the ground get paid for?
Australia does not have the funds to build rail, ports, roads and mining camps... it is entirely dependent on foreign investment to pay for these things. These OS investors willingly hand their money to Australians in the hope that they might one day actually get a "super-profits". Why would you continue to do that when there are now alternative projects to invest in that have the same level of risk, but higher returns?
This policy has the potential to kill the boom in Australia and transfer it overseas.
