Studies have indicated that a household which has solar electricity generation will consume more energy, and in some cases will consume more from the grid than when they had no solar electricity generation.
This has been mainly attributed to people's attitude towards so called "Green Power" in that they let their guard down towards energy efficiency and conservative practices.
They think because they are using renewable energy, it is OK to leave that 1500mm plasma screen running all day and all night, or; to use that electric clothes dryer.
The electricity supply companies are all too well aware of this behaviour. Why else do you think that they are all for people installing photovoltaic cells on their roofs ???
Why is it they do *not* promote independent systems ???

Want to do something for the environment ? Switch off all those appliances you really don't need.
