No doubt about it imo, and it's not just houses....
Property could be boats - some people live on them!! (before I get TOU'd!)
When our boat comes out for anti fouling, the hull is solid - strong and well built. Went down to the shipyard yesterdeay as a mate's boat is out at hte moment, and his is the same - good strong thick hull... Our boats are from the 80's...
The boat next to him is just a year old, and came out the water delaminating, has to be alnmost rebuilt and has a hull thickness of a quarter of an inch. Couldn't even take hitting a log in the water, let alone a rock!
The internal fittings are not made to last, and they're all flashy at face value, but no quality when you look beyond the surface......
No doubt houses are the same - short cuts, shabby workmanship... No pride in their work any more - the dollar is king.
Apprentices often don't want to 'learn' or the tradesmen aren't the old fashioned ones who used to teach the job properly.
