This suggestion from Bridget Carter of Data Room will be in 'The Australian' (print) on Tuesday 28 Feb 2023:"Qube Holdings’ move to offer more detail about the earnings of Patrick Terminals in its latest results has got the attention of some around the market at a time that speculation mounts Brookfield Asset Management is keen to stage an exit from the joint venture investment.
Qube pointed out on page 16 of its half-year results presentation in bold all of what Patrick made for all of 2022, something the company did not do last year when reporting its half-year numbers.
Separately, Qube signalled that acquisitions were on its agenda.
Could this mean that Qube is looking to buy Brookfield’s 50 per cent share of the Patrick business?
A large equity raising would be needed if that was the case, as buying an additional 50 per cent interest is expected to cost at least $2bn..."
