ASX rules - a company is limited to 20% shareholding. ALK cannot increase its stake to 25% like that. Would need to make a formal takeover offer for the whole company. Exception to maximum 20% rule is the creeping takeover provisions which allows companies that hold 20% to increase their holding by 3% p.a ( I think) p,a. without a formal takeover offer.
