Putting aside the financial difficulties and the deteriorating share price in which all have been right in pointing out here, fundamentally the company is positioning itself well.
If AI rapidly does take off as analysts predict this year, it is not feasible for big tech companies to devote time and resources to gather quality training data.
There's simply a race against the clock, and when you need something quickly you'll need to pay up.
One of Appens new product offerings targeting models like chatGPT is right on the money. Ethics, unbiased and accuracy are the number one issues with these language models - chatGPT even has it as a disclaimer when logging in.
The biggest question is how much is this worth and what type of revenue can we expect from these new segments?
