The announcement did say that in the event of oversubscription, the directors would make a decision at their absolute discretion.

Oversubscription to an SOR SPP is not an unusual occurrence. By accepting some, or all, of the oversubscribed offer, they can still honour the first in applications to the full amount.

Given that the means of subscribing via the Automic share registry site, just by making a BPay, were fully described in the announcement (which should have been visible on all Australian broker trading platforms) posting out SPP documents by snail mail does seem at least somewhat redundant.
