most companies hold debt and pay dividends. The debt was obviously for the acquisition earlier in the year.
better to pay a dividend than annoy investors who want a cut of the profits. I wish companies like Seven West Media would pay a dividend as they make a 30% NPAT 2 years in a row and the shares drop by 10% as they don't pay dividends while holding only moderate debt.
