Day trading and shorting essentially are zero sum games - if one wins someone else loses. In the long run most lose, the pros win.

They are like the poker machine players - occasionally they have a big win, and they are addicted to it. They show off the wins, but never mention their losses.

Watch out for those downrampers who say things are going bad but provide no logical reasoning. They want you to sell so they can buy cheap.

It is safer to invest for the long term. Analyse world trends, find a good company with good management and product in demand.
