I would like to know more about this State Street Corp shorting. Although they are a substantial holder, their share portfolio must be under one of the big investment banks. For example Top 20 shareholders in PLS hold 68% of shares up from 51.4% the previous year. Now out of the 68%, HSBC hold about 27%, JP Morgan 15% and so on. Obviously State Street shares are held by some of these big banks.
I am wondering if State Street or the big holders themselves are the ones who are engaging in the shorting? If it is the big banks, they have a massive number of shares to play around with, I would have to think. Is this correct?
