Went back over my trading history with ARU this morning. Got in and out in 2011/12 with a 30% loss (46c down to 32c). Back in later in 2012 at 17.5c. Out again in 2 sales - 2014 at 10.5c, and 2016 at 7.5c. 70% loss there. Ouch.
Glutton for punishment, back in early 2018 @ 13c. Changed strategy on the dip this time. Bought more @ 8c instead of selling. Took a small portion off the table @13.5c as part of an overall portfolio rebalance. Then grabbed some more at 8.5c in 2019, and haven't traded since. This tranche averages 9.3c, so sitting on 6+ bags.
Overall average about 15c, so definitely reaping the rewards this time.
If we hit the ASX200, I can hold up to 20% of my portfolio in ARU instead of 5%, so will definitely be buying more in that event.
