Ok Gurus, riddle me this.
In the last couple of weeks, the percentage of Cboe trades has skyrocketed. What does this mean about the people who are trading? As a lowly retail investor, using Commsec, that platform will use the ASX when you place an order that is not at market. You can't choose to use the ASX or Cboe. If buying at market, if there are ASX and Cboe offers at the same price, it will use Cboe.
Today, 63% of the value is going through Cboe, whereas back in January, before the CR, we would see 98% go through the ASX. Does this mean that retail investor really aren't moving the needle now, its mainly investment houses pushing the volume (and price) now?
