I'm going to reply to you because doing so might help others understand. But I am still resentful of you personally, for personally verballng me and not removing what you said I'd said that I'd never actually said. I don't know if you'd do that in a different environment or if you have allowed your standards of how people should treat other people to degrade simply because you yourself have come to expect low standards on hotcopper.
Its not like you suddenly lost the capacity to sometimes say things that are correct or worthwhile - but I have to have a code of conduct. I have to have core values.
I have a hair trigger and extreme predjudice now against ad hominem attacks.
I judge other posters on their conduct and I don't use the report button ever except to remove my own posts. So I move some nicks that behave eggregiously into a never to be replied to set.
Claims that things are repetitive come over and over from the shallowest most repetitive of posters themselves. Each of which has the ignore or no reply option available to them.
But they still post stupid questions and mischaracterisations in my direction - slander has always worked in the history of civilization when there has not been effective means of countering it.
Lopez jibes at me are harmless because no one including Lopez takes Lopez seriously but phaedrus and dachopper and otherperspective and stockrock are esteemed to some extent rightly because to some extent their content and analysis is good - when they use ad hominem to discourage or deflect it works.
When you say I admitted something that I did not admit and don't correct the error when I point it out to you but laugh it off that is a person to person offense. Duels would have been fought in the past over slights like that. People would die. Even today in this world on this forum you and I are not immune from the legal consequences of our wrongful conduct. But its not just the legal consequences its the moral ones.
Ad hominem hurts the community it stops the better ideas being tested against each other and deprives the community of them.
