No argument from me on that ... my earlier post was predilected on the assumption that there was a Super Profits tax.

From my ealier post, a couple of questions for which thus far there have been no takers ...

A couple of points on the super tax ...

    # Mining/resources is cyclical, so will that industry be able to draw on the "Australia Fund" built (via a Super Tax) from their profits for support during extended downturns?

    # Why stop at just mining companies? Why not extend the super tax to say virtual miners like banks who afterall view the the Australian population and business and associated accounts as the mother of all mines ... without any responsibility to rehabilitate after extraction.

    Cheers
