I really don't know why anybody would want to buy an EV in Australia. Too heavy and not enough range.
When I bought my new Porsche Panamera, I looked at the Hybrid version, it was 500kg heavier and only had a range of 50 odd kilometers using the battery. For me its a 200 km min round trip to do the weekly shopping run where I live in QLD.
The hybrid version uses 2 litres/100km more when using the V6 twin turbo due to the extra weight. So on a weekly 200km round trip I'd be using an extra 3 litres of fuel whilst lugging around that extra 500kg. Therefore the hybrid version is a total waste of money ( + the extra $50,000 cost). Tyres wear faster on the heavy hybrid and at $1,000 each then wearing them out faster is also a concern.
However I will add, the idea of putting flash carbon fibre wheels on my car does interest me as it would cut the weight of my vehicle further plus they look great. Problem for me is that Carbon Revolution don't make 21 inch dia x 12 inch wide rims to suit the Porsche Panamera as only 20 cars are sold in Australia each year. Bummer.
Carbon Revolution should look at exporting the light weight carbon fibre wheels to China for Porsches as China is now the largest market in the world.
