A lot of people on this thread need an education in both history and humanity.
The USA is a liberal democracy. China a Communist [effective] Dictatorship!
This is NOT a contest of equivalency - someone should also point this basic FACT out, to ex PM Keating.
Humanity has hit a long dreamed of "sweet-spot" in being dominated by capital driven, secular, liberal govts....yep, it's got all the ups and downs, all the highs and all the lows of human beings in action.
Most of human existence has been one BIG downer of varying forms of dictatorial to outright tyrannical regimes.
Serious human progress is 4 generations old.....around the time the USA started to gain serious influence.
This is a never ending battle for dominance of the global town square....it's NOT about being fair or just...it's about DOMINATING that global square and keeping humanity on an imperfect path to a even better tomorrow...with all the ups and a few downs!
It's NOT about sharing your kids destiny, with a bunch of gangsters and thugs....with a self-appointed president for life!
