David Buckingham has enjoyed a long and varied career with the Federal Government, occupying a number of senior government posts both in Australia and overseas before moving to the private sector in 1994. In August 2001 he established his own consulting firm where he advised a number of government agencies, corporations, universities and industry organisations. For 3 years (1983 1986) he was a speech writer and adviser to the Prime Minister, Mr Bob Hawke on Australian trade policy.
