The exploration sector has faced strong head winds over the past year due to rising interest rates and capital flight to safety.
Now with the US banking sector in crisis the Fed will know they have pushed too hard and will need to take their foot off the pedal. They may go against better judgement and still raise rates by 25 basis points next week to save face, but it could very well be their last and they will temper it with a dovish narrative. The Fed may even start to cut rates sooner than expected and the expectation will be a positive for some of the better quality gold explorers such as GBR.
A year ago hits like GBR have been getting could have sent them through a dollar. We need those times to return and the combination of lower interest rates and surging gold price will be very helpful.
