From my understanding (which is limited and i dont Self manage my super atm) If it is true self managed super you can buy what ever you like, If however you are self managing but still contained within a Traditional superfund Like Active super, AustralianSuper ,Aware or many other examples, there is caveats and it is not true self management. For example I think most offer only access to asx top 200 or 300 stocks.
In which case GBR definitely will not be an option so maybe that is your issue?
