according to the NBS, the raw coal production in Jan and Feb was 730mil ton, YOY 5.8% increase, 69% higher comparing to your quoted 216 mil ton monthly avg. That is 40mil ton increase. Imported coal was 60 mil, YOY 70%, that is the other 25 mil.
granted, the domestic production is not all thermal, nor was imported. However every coal trader I’ve talked to showed the same level of concern about the price and consumption
