VG, following your logic, every man and his dog should own the rocks. Why stop there? Your house is made of rocks, is it not? Then I want my fair share too!
Interestingly, you follow through with a really good observation.
"other sectors of the economy, ie Manufacturing, medical research, technological development, we will be a weaker nation both financialy and socially. mining booms come and go we need to stop relliance on primary industry, I believe Australia can be more than just a hole in the ground!"
Guess why it is not?
Where is our manufacturing sector and why? It is a better business environment in China.
An education revolution would have made it easier to get PhDs in core business areas pertinent to the Australian economy. But instead people got overpriced unfinished canteens in woop-woop!
Guess what happens when Australia is not even a hole in the ground?
