I've been hearing a lot about the Russian coal mine that blew up. They have been critisized for talking about improving safety but not acting on it. On the news tonight Vladimir Putin visited the mine and apparently is promising that mine safety will be improved (I presume through regulation).

Sad news but IDL gas drainage technology could most likely have prevented it in the first place. Here's hoping that IDL gets in there to prevent these disasters and loss of life from happening!!
