I had incorrectly thought that northwest NSW wass 'dry' but Moree has enjoyed just under 70 millimetres of rain in March 2023 thus far, and Narrabri 45.8mm.
Peak Hill near Dubbo, NSW has similarly had 60.8mm to date in March, while yesterday and today in the NSW Riverina (to 0900 hours AEDT) Hillston recorded its first March rain, totally above 13mm. West Wyalong has had 21.4mm in these two days, adding to 7mm already received in March.
The westerly Victorian grain belt is much drier with Horsham only having had 7mm of rain in March so far, and Hopetoun 4mm, although Nhill has enjoyed 14mm, which is more than half an inch in the old scale.
However in northeast Victoria, Yarrawonga has thus far has 23mm in March 2023 rain, almost an inch.
So from the perspective of graingrowers, who form part of ELD's client base, it's a fair start to the period leading up to planting in the two southern mainland major states.
Surely sbondar is correct when he suggests '(ELD) is doing well?'
