I have been doing a lot of reading / inelegance gathering on “Sodium-ion batteries” From what I have gathered, they are no direct completion to Lithium Batteries – yet Within the next couple of years BYD will be using in their cars but just for their city car small models as they don’t offer the range Lithium Batteries offer – yet.
They are quickly evolving offering extra range, faster charging and a cheaper price.
I believe Lithium batteries will also evolve side by side with them. By 25/26 ish, I feel could be sooner, it’s anticipated they will have the range of what Lithium offers now. Between now and then Lithium will be evolving also
They presently offer quicker charging time than Lithium and are a lot less expensive than Lithium
Like to get knowledgeable input from others here those are over all this.
