Below shows13 LAU railable containers on a Pacific National Brisbane-Melbourne intermodal filmed at Gosford on Wednesday 22 March 2023, so it departed Brisbane's Acacia Ridge freight terminal on Tuesday evening.

Apologies for the slow speed of the train: often between Sydney and Maitland/Telerah.

These intercapital intermodal trains can be following an all stations interurban passenger train to/from Newcastle Interchange or Maitland/Telerah/Scone/Dungog, plus other freights (wheat/canola/cotton/general containers/cement and of course huge tonnages of thermal coal) that use these lines. Only from near Broadmeadow to Maitland are there four tracks, i.e. two each way).

The same videographer also filmed eight LAU containers on a northbound Melbourne-Brisbane filmed.

If LAU can manage to load nine containers on every departure each way on this route, plus have 10 containers on most Melbourne or Sydney to Perth and return intermodal trains, it's easy to see how its 403 railable containers would have good utilisation.

No wonder it's swooped on the Scott's liquidation fire sale and hopefully picked the eyes out of various assets:



If LAU was an AFL player such as 'Dusty' you'd have to say he's in fine form. Who knows what the recession will bring.
