Interesting that in the week after the first offer the shorts dropped 0.4% (a significant move). In the week after the second offer, the shorts dropped 0.4%. But since that drop after the second offer the shorts have risen 0.8%?

I find it difficult to believe that the shorters didn't know what was going on. It seems the downward pressure by shorters has made Albemarle a squillion in terms of discounting the offer down to $2.50. How fortuitous of Albemarle that the shorters have been coincidentally driving hard on their positions just at the same time Albemarle are determining their third offer. Those fellows at Albemarle....awfully lucky :/
