the bidding is not just about the value of the asset, it's potentially a monopolisation of lithium supply. from the sidelines, I suspect an auto / battery maker would be very concerned if their supply is being further monopolised. albermarle lit the fuse but the fireworks are still to come. if anything, albermarles low ball offer will give others time to come up with a counter. time is of the essence here for all interested parties.
