May 18 (Bloomberg) -- Bow Energy Ltd., an Australian coal- seam gas explorer, said it is interested in supplying Liquefied Natural Gas Ltd.s proposed Fishermans Landing project should the developer succeed in signing a partner.
It is a definite opportunity for us, Chief Executive Officer John De Stefani said in an interview in Brisbane yesterday. Fishermans Landing is now just a site. They dont have a buyer and they dont have any gas. I dont think well make a move until they have that more firmed up.
LNG Ltd. seeks a strategic partner to invest in the venture and buy fuel from Fishermans Landing and aims to have an agreement in place by the end of June, Managing Director Maurice Brand said last week. The Perth-based company is also in talks with companies to supply gas to the project, replacing supplies from Arrow Energy Ltd., which agreed in March to be bought by Royal Dutch Shell Plc and PetroChina Co.
Bow aims to increase its reserves to a level that may support a 4 million-metric-ton-a-year LNG plant, the company said May 11. Bow plans to boost proven, probable and possible reserves by 50 percent to 4,128 petajoules by the end of 2010 and to 6,200 petajoules by the end of 2011.
Were trying to find a home for the gas, potentially providing supplies for the domestic market or LNG export projects in Queensland, De Stefani said. Bow has been in gas- supply discussions since the beginning of the year, he said.
