Further to this discussion I have re-examined the transaction pages a bit more and actually the buys and sells are pretty even. There are entries noted as ‘return of hypothecated position’ so I guess these are where the borrowed shares are returned. You can find more out about re hypothecation etc on the iInvestopedia website.
