It's a debacle, that for sure.
I am wondering if their announcement is accurate: my understanding is that that they paid $1 to acquire 50% of Ezibuy several years ago and had an option exercisable at $13m to acquire the other 50% from their largest shareholder. That option was not exercised until late in FY22 when the pandemic was pretty much over. How much of the subsequent decline in the business is from self-inflicted wounds: inventory shortages, poor quality and service etc? Lots of questions to be answered, but we know for a fact that the largest shareholder did alright from this and that the creditors of Ezibuy are going to wear the pain. The board should hang their heads in shame on this.
