I agree Star gig would not be easy at all, many things outside his reasonable control.
At this stage he is an unproven CEO, with his former roles looking like upper middle management, but not C-suite.
Nevertheless would have learned much from the difficult time at Star, and hopefully Mr Carapiet and the board will have chosen well on our behalf. The full LTIP entitlement for YE December 23 is not prorated but the STIP is, which I don't fully understand. The performance hurdles have likely been already agreed and will be ratified by the AGM when it votes on the Rem Report.
I think the IT transformation struggled thus far and from his backgound he may have useful experience in overseeing large IT projects. Banking has a history of complex IT projects failing and again you sometimes learn a lot from beiing in a failed project than in a successful one. Certainly what SIQ is attempting seems to be an order of magnitude less complex and I hope less risky.
