My understanding was this proposal to lift the ban was a private members motion, one of 40 proposals that were dismissed on the day.
Maybe they don't like individuals trying to get some personal glory by jumping the gun here?
Based on the process flow in the link you posted, we should expect:
- the Govt of the day to be making this proposal in the chamber (not private members).
- referral to a committee for detailed scrutiny.
- committee makes a proposal to the chamber (+ve or -ve).
- debate on the proposal.
- voting on the proposal.
Pretty much how any legislative assembly would operate. It intrigues me that so many thought the Swede's are some kinda weirdos that would make snap decisions that surprise everyone. This is going to take months once the current Govt makes the proposal to the Riksdag.
