Yeah, he had to construct a confected argument that they support the idea of a voice as long as it's just symbolic.
They are saying yes to a voice but not this one that's been proposed. I think Dutton's first priority is to keep the party united and if the referendum fails he'll chalk it up as a win and get to contest the next election as leader of the party.
I'm surprised thought that he said out loud that recognition is not a matter of conscience.
