I am not in the position to say whether OD6 can be economical or not.

This whole saga started when I asked certain posters to not post about another company so often here. Then my second unrelated point bringing in to question the acid selection, strength and leach time was met with aggressive attacks where were unwarranted.

Keeping in mind, the company may plan to process 10 million tonnes of ore each year. Can we even comprehend the price difference between the acids.

OD6 also a low HREE ratio (18%-20%) and has no scandium. IXR have scandium and IXR have a healthy HREE ratio (35%+) and process with sulphuric acid. So to summarise OD6 does not have a lot of margin to fall back on with low HREE and no by-products. So things like acid costs is make or break IMO.
