I see people are still looking for a reason why the SP movement didn't live up to their expectations after that important Ann. So, one last time, while you're still digesting, I'll try to offer as objective a view as possible. The main concern I see here is actually the timing challenge. Permission is an extremely important milestone, there's no question about that. I looked at the last presentation and Gvan rightly said that the company has not been sitting back and forth for the past 3 years and has probably done its utmost to push other necessary things forward in parallel. As already said, this is a European prestige project that many eyes are and will be on! And this is exactly where I see the greatest danger of blind spots that should not be ignored. While the court's decision may have been in Talga's favour, I find it difficult to believe how the required conditions can be met in a timely manner.
The best hydropowered "green" plant doesn't change the fact that mining is and will always be a dirty business and the last thing you want for a green and EU-funded project of this size are headlines like these:
I can imagine imagine how many times this topic has been covered in the past and you have really good and very informed posters here as I could see. But the effects of climate change on the Sami could become a real stumbling block in the coming years (especially if necessary documents have to be translated into Finnish every time!)
ACC wants to start producing at the end of 2025, Mitsui is already working at full speed on diversifying its suppliers (See Canada), some of the competition in the area of SI anodes is already further advanced and at the moment I simply don't see that the timeline set by the customers can be adhered to for the reason mentioned above.
People are already calling out the next 10 bags... but taking this as an entry point, I'm really having a hard time seeing even 2 bags in the next 5 years due to the resulting cash burn…
