IMO, ENB has a fundamental problem in that it does not have a viable energy source. It has acknowledged that its coal is not mineable by conventional means being too deep. It tried but failed to get CNX, with its coal seam gas (CSG) technique, to engage in a joint venture.That failed due to ENBs coal seams being too thin.The Cougar Energy venture, also CSG, will suffer the same fate, IMO. Added to all that the coal itself is not that great, low specific energy sub-bituminous.
