For those that are yet to vote or are inclined to vote yes like Koala - obviously it's a personal matter and I give no advice on how to vote.

However some food for thought is that someone or multiple someone's have bought approx. A$13M worth of ESS in the last 2 days.

I assume this large buyer/s is well informed - moreso than us lowly plebs.

If they see value in buying shares at 49.5 - 50 cents, then it bodes well for a higher bid yet to come.

Now whilst I would love it if it was MIN doing all the buying, I presume it's actually IGO/Tianqi. I hypothesise that they know the vote will go against them, and I also hypothesise that they are preparing to offer a sweetened bid immediately after the vote, or just before it if they are sure they don't have the numbers. So they may well have decided to snap as many up at 50 cents as they can, as that's less shares they need to pay the premium on with their sweetened bid in due course.

Like others have suggested, a bid of say 60 cents or more may get the job done and appease the masses that are holding out for more value. So they will save 20% on that sort of bid for the shares they have accumulated.

Anyway let's see how it pans out. I only see 2 likely reasons for the large buying over the last 2 days. IGO / Tianqi grabbing what they can, or an alternative bidder building a stake.

Either way it means we are likely to get more than the 50 cents offered to us initially.
