Whilst this appeal has been in progress and each side was busy formulating their strongest arguments, in the background the political landscape has been significantly shifting in favour of mining of important materials, following the announcement (above all) of the EU critical raw minerals act on March 16. This must surely now be front and foremost on the minds of the legal people that would be considering any appeal. This is a new consideration that wasn't in the mix only a couple of months ago. This project would tick all the boxes for Sweden, on multiple fronts.

"...The EU executive set new targets for the bloc, stating that 10% of the raw critical material consumed by EU members, such as lithium and cobalt, should be mined in the region. Additionally, 15% of its needs should be met by recycled sources and 40% of all critical miners used ought to be processed within the EU."
