I’d take a grain of salt on the coal futures. GCNEWC is a very illiquid market. Standard contract size of 25kt is not representing any reasonable shipping size either. Both sides can negotiate the price first, trade via GC using a 25kt contract and then price the whole 120Kt Cap bulk carrier using the same price. Future market doesn’t play much part of it.
