Putin was definitely the de-stabliser eastern Ukraine, with disguised soldiers, equipment know-how, FSB involvement, fueled and financed separatism. MH17 was a very unfortunate footnote Russia recognized Ukraine in 1991 with the Eastern borders. Putin did not respect, or even consider Ukraine a separate county. That was ground zero. Democracy came to Ukraine, not perfect, but enough to shift Ukraine from what Russia perceived as its control.
Now to say the say on this scale is justified to protect "Russian Speaking" Ukrainians is just plain wrong. Kill 150,000, displace 8 million, release war-crimes on a magnified scale, threaten world with nuclear mistake.... a bit over the top?
If justifiable take it to the UN... get international support... there is none! It is just weakening Ukraine and Russia, increasing the military complex.
