People confuse Russia from Soviets, I'm no exception. This is why I think Putin has no interest in the other bits of Ukr that are Russian hostile except to demilitarise and de-Nazify. Even these simplistic objects care complex in execution.

Ukr is all but finished as a nation on pre-2014 existence. Zel$ just gave away more lands because his backers expect him to perform with their initial investments.

Unintended consequences are rapidly unfolding, speculations that belong to the world of conspiracy. Gold, petro$, new found survivorship of enemy's enemy friendship and all that hedging of trade and sovereign wealth from US consfication. These are only the most obvious ones.
