Sydney - Wednesday - May 26 (RWE Aust Business News) - World precious metal against spot sellng prices on Asian markets. Gold rose $5.60 to $1207.80 oz; Silver gained 10c to $18.10 oz but platinum slipped $1.00 to $1521.00 oz while palladium rose $9.00 to $453.00 oz.
By comparison previous prices in New York and London were: COMEX METALS... spot gold is currently $1198.68 oz. The June gold contract rose $4 to $1198 oz, the Aug contract rose $4 to $1199.80 oz. May silver was down 21.9c to $17.763 oz. July platinum fell $42.60 to $1491.90 oz. and May copper fell 10.3c to 303.35c lb.
LONDON METAL EXCHANGE... official cash ask prices were: copper $6685 tonne (pre $6770.50), tin $17,350 (pre $17,705), lead $1724 (pre $1779), zinc $1830.50 (pre $1888), aluminium $1980.50 (pre $2009) and nickel $21,145 (pre $21,595). The 3-month ask prices were copper $6731 (pre $6945), tin $17,445 (pre $17,850), lead $1755 (pre $1850), zinc $1866 (pre $1925), aluminium $2012 (pre $2095) and nickel $21,175 (pre $22,280).
OIL... July crude fell $1.46 a barrel to $68.75 with a high of $69.91 and a low of $67.15. The Aug contract fell $1.52 a barrel to $70.10 with a high of $71.35 and low of $68.59. Brent ICE for July was down $1.62 a barrel to $69.55 with a high of $70.95 and a low of $68.15.
Reuters CRB index is down 3.18 points to 248.79.

AUSTRALIAN DOLLAR... is changing hands at US82.69c compared with US81.93c on yesterday's close. Offshore the Aussie posted a high of US82.67c and low of US80.69c. Against the yen it is at 74.56 (pre 74.63) at 67.01 euro cents (pre 66.87) and 57.39 British pence (pre 57.52).
