Just to clarify, both Mount Weld and KAL operations are managed in accordance with radiation management plans, which is regulated by Department of mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) and also the Radiological Council of Wester Australia. Similar to the LAMP in Malaysia which is regulated by the AELB.
The only difference between WA and MAL is the transport regulations. In WA, material with radioactivity of <10bq/g is not classified radioactive for transport purposes, where in Malaysian the limit is 10 times lower at <1bq/g.
