"With the announced policy it becomes very unattractive to invest in exploration Chile knowing you will have a silent partner who will hold 51% of the asset you might discover.
However, Chinese investors will welcome the opportuinity given that [Australia] and [Canada] have blocked them."
Daniel Jimenez Sch
Daniel Jimenez still has the old out-dated capitalism mindset. This mindset is inherently neo-colonialism.
The Chinese, on the other hand, applies the modern approach: as long as it's profitable for both of us we'll do it.
For example: the current Indonesian Government stopped the export of raw nickel. They wanted it to be processed in Indonesia for export. They invited investors to open nickel processing plant. And the Chinese investor won the tender because they were the only one who agreed to the conditions; one of them was technology transfer, which was rejected by Western investors.
I hope Allkem's management is smart enough to know the changing world and act accordingly.
