While some sources show lithium carbonate prices in China below $30,000, the source below show prices over $60,000 for last month for lithium carbonate imported into China. Does anyone have any idea why the big difference?
SHANGHAI, Apr 23 (SMM) - China’s lithium carbonate imports were 17,428 mt in March, a month-on-month increase of 85% and a year-on-year growth of 58%.Imports from Chile proliferated by 87% month-on-month, while those from Argentina jumped by 64% month-on-month.The average import price stood at $61,335/mt in March 2023, a drop of 23% month-on-month but a surge of 183% year-on-year. The average import price from Chile stood at $64,452/mt, down 24% month-on-month.
