VW will build a 90Gwh battery plant, Lithium ion NCM 811 high nickel cathode, that is an incredible amount of Nickel required to be sourced from IRA compliant Free trade agreement (FTA) countries.

IRA dictates not only vehicle must be manufactured in US or FTA but also materials sourced in FTA such as Canada, this requirement is increasing each year to the required 80% USA or FTA sourced.

Basically Aston have the ball in their court, VW and Canadian government will need this Nickel to be produced and are willing to spend billions for this to happen.

With the new management team who are experienced with globally significant projects there is incredible upside to Aston for those who are patient.
